Berry Floor, Alloc and Flooring Industries, the intellectual property company of the Unilin group, have entered into a patent cooperation whereby Flooring Industries will become responsible for the sublicensing of specific patent portfolio’s owned by Berry Floor and Alloc. These patent portfolio’s relate to bevel technology in floor and furniture panels, fire retarding panel technology and laser technology for the manufacture of flooring panels.
“Berry Floor has been successfully implementing laser technology in its manufacturing process since the end of 2008, states Carl Schulze”, CEO of Berry Floor. “The technology has been optimized since then and is now ready to be licensed out to third parties. With this cooperation, we will be able to use Flooring Industries’ licensing know-how and customer network to optimize the commercialization of the technology.
“We are very pleased to partner up with Berry Floor and Alloc”, states Bart Van der Stockt, managing director of Flooring Industries. “We have been entering into similar cooperation agreements with Välinge (clic technology), Frati (digital printing technology) and with Windmöller (LVT clic) in the past years which have proven to be successful. We are looking forward to offering this laser technology and the other Berry patent portfolio’s to interested parties during the upcoming trade fairs”. |
