Flooring Industries and ATP sign license agreement. |

Flooring Industries, the intellectual property arm of the Unilin Group, partnered up with ATP during a signing ceremony on the Shanghai Domotex fair on the 25th of March 2009.
“We are very happy to welcome ATP, one of China’s leading manufacturers of laminate flooring, as a new license partner”, says Bart Van der Stockt, managing director of Flooring Industries. “ATP and Power Dekor, with whom we signed a license agreement last year, can be considered as the two leaders in the Chinese flooring industry. Both have several factories and an impressive sales presence in China. We encourage the fact that there is an increased awareness in the Chinese flooring industry towards intellectual property rights. We shall continue to cooperate with our Chinese partners to stop the remaining illegal sales in China.”
Flooring Industries has over 40 licensees in China that are exploiting Unilin’s know-how and patent rights regarding glueless locking solutions and beveled edges for flooring products. Unilin patent rights were confirmed by the SIPO (Chinese Intellectual Property Office) in Beijing after a challenge in 2008.
