Unilin strengthens patent position in USA |

On November 17, 2009, a further US patent was granted in the US patent family relating to the basic glue-less coupling system of Unilin. The patent which is granted under the number US 7,617,645 B2 claims a particular configuration of interlocking coupling profiles of the type which allows that floor panels can be joint by angling one panel in respect to another. The patent is not limited to laminate panels and thus also applies to other types of flooring panels.
This patent is a first one of a series of 28 US patent applications in the basic patent family of Unilin for which recently Notices of Allowance from the USPTO have been received. The grants of the respective patents are expected within the next two months.
